Precision Waterjet Cutting

June 19, 2023
Precision Waterjet Cutting Blenheim Picton Marlborough

We recognised the importance of precision waterjet cutting to our engineering business way back in 2017. It was then that we took delivery of our first CNC Water Jet Cutting Machine. Since then, we’ve delighted many Picton, Blenheim and Marlborough clients across many industries. Completing projects that can only be executed effectively with this method of cutting.

Supporting other companies to improve their efficiencies or providing the confidentiality required when designing new products without the expense of purchasing a machine are our specialities.

Precision Waterjet Cutting – The Advantages.

High Precision:

Water jet cutting technology provides exceptional precision, enabling the cutting of intricate shapes with tight tolerances. This method offers a superior finish for components ready to add to your fabrication process.

Non-Contact Cutting:

Precision water jet cutting is a non-contact process. This means there is no contact between it (the cutting tool) and the material being cut. This non-contact process eliminates the risk of mechanical distortion or heat-induced damage that can occur with other cutting methods. If you need a component made from a material that is sensitive to heat or has a tendency to warp, talk to us about our CNC water jet.

Versatile Cutting Capability:

Apart from toughened glass, our CNC Water Jet Cutting Machine will cut almost anything! It will cut materials up to 200mm thick, including gaskets, paper, foam, rubber, wood, marble and all sheet metals. We’ve even cut a celebratory chocolate cake with it!

Our Picton-based premises, which service Blenheim, Marlborough, as well as Nationwide customers, has multiple cutting centres providing efficiency & minimal downtime in our water jet-cutting department. With the ability to continue after hours, we can assist you with all those emergency jobs that arise from time to time whilst also providing free delivery around our region’s main centres.

Our machines are capable of cutting larger sheet materials, up to 2 metres by 4 metres. This means we can efficiently specialise in large production runs. Our newest upgrade allows us to cut at a 20% faster run rate than other Omax models meaning it’s more time & cost-effective in the long run for you as a customer.

If you are struggling with time and labour force or have a design or manufacturing project that needs precision waterjet cutting, we are here to help. We’re based in Picton but work with clients throughout Blenheim, Marlborough, the rest of New Zealand and internationally. Contact us HERE.
