We feel a real sense of belonging when we drive around the region and recognise large or small projects we have played a part in.
Over the years, there have been lots of exciting projects. For example, back in Roy and Barbara’s days (Jason’s parents and the original business owners), they became the supply outlet for all the services salvaging the Mikhail Lermontov. From organising the supply of groceries to manufacturing bins to help recover oil from the sunken cruise ship.
One of the larger projects (and out of the norm for the company at that time) that Jason and I have been involved in was supporting the contract with the Council to redo the furniture and light poles on the Eastern part of Picton Foreshore beside the tourism businesses. Back then, we had limited scope for creating decorative projects, but we engaged and made the furniture and light poles (bendy ones, at that!). It was a real family affair for us at the time that we are very proud of!
This project led to more work with some of Marlborough’s most successful companies and organisations, proving that sometimes, you have to go for it in business! You never know where accepting a job will take you.
Over the years, watching our team’s innovation and design come to life from our customer’s paper napkin drawings has been terrific.

CNC Cutting:
Our CNC Cutting department supports other local manufacturers in cutting components. We take the hard yards out of the manufacture of parts for industrial clients. The CNC Cutting Machine’s decorative ability also provides great scope for those creative projects our residential or smaller clients have planned.
Fabrication:
Our talented fabricators in Aluminium, Stainless Steel and Mild Steel add significant benefits to all industries, whether a creative project or a large production run. From structural beams to alloy linkspans, we thrive on diversity.
Hydraulics & Servicing:
Our Hydraulics and Service Department focuses on projects requiring fluid power through hydraulics. We also cover servicing of equipment, welding repairs and maintenance work through this department.
Working with smaller or residential clients:
But as a family-driven company, we are also pleased to offer engineering services in Picton for residential clients. Your one-off projects are important to us; no job is too big or small.
For residential customers, we provide a vast array of engineering services. It could be a trailer repair, a new bracket for a shelf or a repair of their favourite garden tool.
One of our most memorable projects was building a train for a person very dear to our hearts for his Marlborough Sounds property. It provided a mode of transport that meandered from his jetty up the hill to his garage and the inside of his home. It sure was an out-of-the-box project.
